Over a million square feet of food-grade warehousing and logistics for Chicago-area hospitality, restaurant, ingredients and food manufacturing industries.

Warehousing food means operating at the highest standards. Your business is depending on it.
First Logistics is a leader in food and beverage 3PL solutions. With more than a million square feet of Chicago-area food-certified warehousing and logistics for the hospitality, restaurant, grocery, ingredients and food manufacturing industries, we’ve led the way for more than a decade by receiving “Food Grade Superior” ratings in external audits by the American Institute of Baking (AIB).
Warehousing of food products requires strict inventory control, written processes and technology that ensures FDA-certified warehouse storage – even when navigating recalls, handling allergens or addressing special needs. Unlike standard warehouses, our food-certified warehouse providers have multiple high-level, in-house certified food safety coordinators onsite.
That means when you chose First Logistics for food warehouse storage and consumer packaged goods logistics, you get more than incredible customer solutions: You get the peace of mind that comes from knowing food products are kept at their freshest–with all precautions against damage, contamination and odor transfer–for the duration of the storage process.

No, First Logistics does not offer cold storage, but we do provide ambient storage–the storage of goods at a controlled “room temperature,” typically ranging from 60°F to 80°F (15°C to 27°C). An ambient temperature is ideal for a wide variety of products that don’t require refrigeration or freezing.
An AIB International inspection is a comprehensive assessment of a food facility’s food safety practices, including operational methods, personnel practices, maintenance, cleaning, integrated pest management, and the adequacy of prerequisite and food safety programs. It ensures that our facilities follow best practices and adhere to regulations to prevent food safety hazards.
It means our facilities have been officially recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as places where food, drugs, medical devices, or cosmetics are stored. This registration ensures that our warehouses meet the FDA’s standards for storage, handling, and sanitation, and the FDA reserves the right to inspect these registered facilities.
